Peer at Night



Ok this isnt a great shot either (and i did decide to take a few min to edit a little) but I am still trying to learn how to take pics of lights. I find it hard to hold the camera still enough and then with some stuff to even get it to focus! LOL

Trapped



This pic is not the greatest but i was trying to pack for vacation and my husband did this to the poor dog. i would have rathered had her in focus instead of the clothes hamper but...it didnt happen and neither of us wanted to take the time to make it happen! So all the pics this week will probably like this SOOC because right now i am on a unsecure network because it was available lol!

going on vacation

well we are going to the beach for a few days (today thru sat) and then will aslo be out of town sunday for my birthday. So i am going to be taking a pic a day but i am not sure if i will get to post them (took last nights pic but just dont have time to mess with it. I will get them up when i can though :)

Sparks




Well I got one chance. After Sue was nice enough to tell me how to do this I decided why not give it a try. First thing i learned sparklers, matches and wind dont mix! Second thing I learned the camera doesnt like focusing in the dark so its hard to get the picture to go even if you do manage to get it lit. So you will prob see another one of these in which I get someone else to do the sparkler and I will worry about taking the picture!

Tried to take the kids pictures today but they were a big pain in the butt. I think Gabe would have been ok if Miss Madi wouldnt have been so grumpy. So here are the two who were the most cooperative for me today so they win the spot for my picture of the day!

Asleep


Ok I almost feel like I am cheating because I just took yesterday's pic an hour ago. But who could pass this up. the first pic shows where she is on her mattress...under the bed lol! She got into trouble for biting her brother and I sent her to her room well she was really mad and crying then she got quiet. So after a while I went and checked her and there she was asleep on her mattress under her bed. I pulled her out but not before grabbing the camera! I know I wont be able to get anything better then this so here it is!

Reflection 2

Again nothing fancy this is from the Canon A10 again. This mirror was my grandmother's and the reflection of the picture in the background was also my grandmother's. When we used to go over to their place I always liked these and it's nice to have them to look at now at my parent's house. So not a great shot but just something that is special to me :)

Reflection 1

Well nothing fancy just thought it was cool how you can see her reflection in the door. I spent a lot of the weekend hanging out at my parents house and i took my old powershot A10 (dont laugh) to play with. Trying to figure out if i want to upgrade to a new point and shoot or just forget the point and shoot and spend the money on another lens for my rebel. Once you get used to the slr its a lot different to use a point and shoot isnt it?

Snapshots!

I took several pictures outside today but the ones that really struck me to post were the ones of my kids. So today it is just some snapshots with a little editing to brighten them up and sharpen them a little. The first set of my daughter I told her to smile so she rolled her eyes at me, then I said no give me a real smile so she did the fake smile. I finally got a real one out of her. She is such a silly girl I love her so much!

My son I noticed had gotten his hands all nasty. When I told him to show me his hands he gave me that look like oops they are a little messy mom. I hate that i missed the top of his head but I had to snap it quick and that look was priceless! Then he told me they were messy so I told him to show me again so he looked at them like wow they really are pretty yucky!

Light

Decided to play with layers a little tonight since my daughter still would not let me take her picture today, neither would my son. So this one is a black and white layer on top of a color layer (that had much editing) and i cut the light out. I am still trying to decide if i like it or not but i think it is growing on me :)

Thanks so much for the suggestion "Hand Puppet" I do like it better with the white wall instead of the greyish tint to my ugly off white wall lol :)

Hello Kitty (aka Paci Kitty)

This is what my daughter put her paci's in the other day. I really wanted to take some pictures of my daughter tonight using my new felt I bought to try out for backdrops but she wasnt really in the mood so I took a picture of her kitty instead :) . This was taken in manual since I am trying to practice with that. It was taken with the flash because it was way too dark to take it without! It really could use a little more editing but i am too tired so i am just going to leave it like it is for now.

Bye Bye Paci!

Well the quality of these shots really isnt that good. Buildabear deffinately does not have good picture lighting. But I had to post this today because my daughter, who is 3 years 7 months finally gave up her paci's tonight. It's kindof bitter sweet. In a way I am glad to see them gone but it also is going to be weird to see her without them. Here she is stuffing her last 4 "paps" as she calls them, into a Hello Kitty!

The Pouting Princess

It's Mine Now!

I took this picture of Peppermint trying out Madison's "pap". Now if you know my daughter you know that this was hard to do. She is 3 1/2 and she still has to have this thing so she was quite upset with the puppy for taking it. She was chasing her around the room while I was trying to get a shot!
